THE BRIAR PATCH STORY

Sparked by a passion and a love for flowers, The Briar Patch

grew as an idea in my mind last summer, and I’ve been planning it ever since.

I’m a mum to a two- and three-year-old and work part-time as a rural nurse, but there’s always room for flowers. I’ve been growing flowers for the last few years with my sister, wanting a little more each season, until eventually, starting a flower farm just seemed to fit.

I want to grow fresh flowers for people to have on their tables — to share a little piece of the joy they bring me, and bring that joy into their homes.

The flowers are the end result, but for me, it’s the process that really fuels it all.

Hands in the dirt, a reason to be outside, the excitement of a seed

germinating, and being in the greenhouse surrounded by growing plants.

Growing up on Aotea, nature was nurtured into me. Flowers, and

growing flowers, are something that brings me back to myself.

And that’s really where The Briar Patch began.
